I've been trying to change my painting style to a more painterly and spontaneous style, and this is another step in that direction. It is still a bit too clean and detailed for my taste, but old habits are hard to break. I really forced myself to paint looser and use bolder colors this time, and although it's not anywhere close to the standard I had set out to achieve, it's at least a little bit of progress from the boring and sterile look of my previous paintings.
